Bounce

Bounce

Framework
Remote controls have always been stale rectangles in the home environment. Using new sensing technologies, is there a way to provide a better interaction for the simple tasks of changing channels?

Concept
A haptic remote control for sports lovers.

Details
Many fans enjoy watching games while tossing a ball around the room. By taking this current script of action and adding an additional use to it, we can create a natural improvement to television viewing.

Volume may be controlled by throwing the ball directly against the ceiling or the floor. Changing the channel may occur by throwing bounce against the wall, or by hitting the ball against your other hand. A simple twist of the two sections of the ball shall turn on the remote, and the user may twist the ball back to place a lock on the system. A toss into its recharging bucket will turn the entire system off. Simple tosses up and down without hitting other objects will not affect anything.

By using simple motion and shock sensors, new gestures for controlling your viewing experience can be created.
